The other day Ryan and I went mini golfing at this place.

It reminded me of Indiana Jones.  Indiana Jones reminded me of the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.  The Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland reminded me of Disneyland.

Thinking of Disneyland reminded me that we will be there in a little over a month!  As if I need reminding - I don't.  The "Perils of the Lost Jungle" mini golf course just made me even more excited than I already was.

Yay for magicalness and fairies and Disney.

Hello From My Cell Phone

He didn't learn this from me...

Catch my drift?

Too funny.

The Vanity

Bry Bry loves to look at himself.  His reflection even makes him laugh sometimes.

I'll just have to make sure that he and Narcissus don't share the same fate.

But then again, who wouldn't want to look at this face?

Why I Wish I Was More Like My Baby

Babies - these little humans who can't speak a "real" language can teach us all a lesson or two.  Or three or four or five.  They are pretty remarkable.  B is exceptional and I wish that I was more like him in several ways.  These are in no particular order.

1.)  I wish I slept as cute as he does.  Case in point:

Adorable.  I sleep with my mouth open and drool occasionally.  Not cute.

He even sleeps with his hand raised.

2.) B is a super social little guy.  At this point in his life he LOVES meeting new people and smiling at anyone and everyone.  His mom?  I'm shy and reserved and kind of hermit-like sometimes.  I wish I was more like this little one.

3.) B shows you all of his emotions right in the moment.  When he's sad you know.  When he's happy you know.  When he's bored your know.  He doesn't bottle them up like a lot of us do.  Obviously there is a time and place to let these out as an adult but I tend to bottle 'em up and stick a cork right on top.  Not the healthiest of practices.

4.) B is innocent.  Oh is he innocent!  He is so sweet and untouched by all the bad ugly world things.  Sadly this just goes away little by little.  I wish I could preserve that innocence for him somehow.

5.) B is forgiving.  He can be screaming at you one minute because you aren't paying enough attention to his little self and then the moment you pick him up he will beam at you.  He even forgives the nurses to prick him in the leg and foot.  I hold on to things for way too long.

6.) B is curious.  He wants to know what everything is and wants to get his hands on anything new.  He has no fear at all.  Wouldn't that be nice?

7.) B is constantly learning and growing.  He changes from week to week, picking up new skills and perfecting old ones.  It is crazy how fast babies grow.  He is a completely different person at 4 months than he was as 3 and at 2 and at 1.  We are all obviously still learning and growing but we also get complacent and become very set in our ways (at least I do).

I could go on and on and think he is pretty neat if you can't tell.  I keep telling him to STOP growing and to stay my little tiny baby but at the same time I celebrate every time he reaches a new milestone and get so excited as I see his little personality take shape.

What a fun fun time.

(Except for when he gets shots, like today.  Poor baby)

Play Time

I love how hard he concentrates on his toys.

Bugaboo is 4 months old and happy about it!

LOVE him

We've done a lot of fun things lately with the family.  B has done so so well being out and about all day long.  A sample of our adventures:

Great Falls, VA

The District

Getting eaten by a hippo at the Natural
History Museum

Capitol Dome - We got a pretty cool tour thanks to Ryan!

The Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum

B loves his feet and will hold on to them ANY chance he gets.  Cute cute cute.  He's likely protecting them because I frequently nibble at his little toesies.

We took him "swimming" the other day (also known as we put his feet in the pool) and I just can't get over how adorable he is in a swimsuit.

Cutest little boy

Toes in the water

His 0-3 month swimsuit is falling off of him.
He's a tall, skinny baby!

He's still kind of unsure of the pool.  It wasn't the warmest that day so we didn't put him in all the way but hopefully he'll like it when we do.

I never wrote about how proud I am of this guy:

Ryan graduated from UVA Law!  His reward?  Study day after day for the BAR...woo.hoo.

But really - it is a huge accomplishment and I am really proud of him for all of his hard work

B is proud too

I'm really digging my little family.  Both of my boys are awesome.
